Technology made in Certaldo. And in the new swimming pool, up to 90% of the heat from the waste water is recovered

At the new swimming pool in Certaldo, up to 90% of the heat from the waste water is recovered, thanks to technology developed entirely in Certaldo. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art systems designed to promote environmental protection, energy savings and sustainability.

Thus, inside the Fiammetta Swimming Pool, which opened in Certaldo on 14 May, there are also modules from Techno System, a leading manufacturer of plate heat exchangers.

Thanks to the trust placed in the Tuscan company by Grundfos Water Treatment, a world leader in pumping systems and water management solutions, plate heat exchangers and MR Techno System modules have also been installed. Grundfos WT has, in fact, placed a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency in the plant’s technical rooms. And the aim of the MR modules is to recover heat from the swimming pool waste water: up to 90%.

“A huge thank you to Grundfos WT and for the trust they have placed in us – says Carlo Boccacci, president of Techno System srl – We are very proud of this facility and would like to congratulate the local council on its opening. The swimming pool in Certaldo is a meeting place and a very important venue for the whole community of Certaldo, where we have our headquarters. An effective solution developed entirely in-house at Techno System that saves energy and protects the environment”.

How does the MR module work? Swimming pools are required to replace a certain percentage of their water every day. The water that is drained is warm and contains heat. The incoming water, however, is cold and must be heated to around 29 degrees, the average temperature for swimming pools. The Mr Techno System heat exchanger brings the incoming cold water into contact with the outgoing hot water. The hot water transfers its heat within the exchanger. In this way, up to 90% of the heat is recovered.

The work on the new Fiammetta Swimming Pool is being carried out as part of the PNRR funding scheme.
