The PED Directive 2014/68/UE, implemented in Italy with Legislative Decree no. 26 of the 15/02/2016, defines 4 categories of danger plus one of exclusion. These categories are defined by specific tables based on the type of fluid, the vapor pressure calculated at the maximum temperature and of the product pressure x volume. When an exchanger falls into one of the four aforementioned categories (I, II, III, IV) it must bear the CE marking , otherwise it falls within the exclusions defined by article 4 paragraph 3 and does not need to bear CE marking.
